For this room tour I decided to show you E’s nautical themed nursery. This room used to be our daughter’s nursery but we moved her to her “big girl room” when we were expecting our son. My daughter’s nursery theme was a Hawaiian one with the walls being this nice teal color. We ended up leaving the wall colors the same. It is called Spa by Sherwin Williams. It is bright but not overly bright and definitely makes you think of ocean water.
Welcome to the nursery! As you may remember from a previous post, I made the curtains out of a shower curtain. The bumper and other crib bedding is from Pottery Barn Kids. I loved combining the colors navy and teal together. I think they balance each other out nicely.
On the wall by the closet is this anchor print on burlap. It’s a nice touch of nautical and came from Hobby Lobby. The ship wheel, letter E, and hamper all came from Hobby Lobby also. I loved incorporating the E. It is made of galvanized metal and adds a different texture to the room.
The changing pad cover matches the bedding and is also from Pottery Barn Kids. The mirror was my daughter’s and came from Hobby Lobby.
As for some small details in the room that I like, I got these compass knobs for the closet doors at Hobby Lobby. A subtle detail, but it makes an impact.
This pulley hangs in the corner of the room and is also from, you guessed it, Hobby Lobby! Right now I’m using it to hang a cute little nautical outfit that E can’t fit into yet. Later we might use it to hang a basket of toys or even a basket of diapers since it is by the changing table. Lastly, I love this bear blanket/rug that a friend had made for me. The colors go great in the room and it also has little teddy bears in boats on it. Perfect for going nautical! It also dresses up the rocker since it is just a plain tan.
I hope you enjoyed E’s nursery. What small details do you like to include in a room that make a big impact?
