With Alison and her family off on vacation, Julia and Lauren are bringing you our fab finds for the month. Check them out!
This month my fab finds all came from TJ Maxx! I don’t shop there often, but I am always surprised at some of the home decor items that I fall in love with when I’m there.
First, I have been looking for some artificial flower arrangements that look fairly real and can add some Spring touches to my home. They had many different varieties and colors, but I liked this small one. This could go on a shelf, my dining room table, or a side table.
Next, I love these mirrors! A cute trio of sunburst mirrors that could be hung in so many different ways. Gold is also very trendy and I liked that they were a subtle gold- not too flashy or bright, but definitely still gold.
Lastly, these Steve Madden Edda caged textile sandals caught my eye. They are very tall wedges so I don’t know if I have the guts to wear them (I’m not exactly short), but I thought these were so pretty. I recently saw someone wear a pair of these with skinny jeans and she looked so cute! The shoe department at TJ Maxx definitely had me drooling.
What do you shop for at TJ Maxx?
Since we posted this week on how to stay thrifty when it comes to crafting and decorating, I decided to show you my fab finds from the Dollar store–doesn’t get more thrifty than that, right? Everything I’m going to show you was only $1!
I love the Dollar store for particular items, like birthday cards (I hate paying up to $6 for a card everywhere else!), balloons, and office supplies. But there are often great surprises, too, that can be used in all kinds of crafting and decorating.
This was one of my favorite finds–they’re candle coasters! But hang a group of them on the wall and you’ve got a set of mirrors. I think I’m definitely going to do this in my house; Ikea sells a set of honeycomb mirrors, but $1 apiece for these sounds much better to me!
I hate spending a lot of money on wrapping paper, and there’s a pretty decent collection at the Dollar store. I especially loved this pattern, which could easily be framed for some inexpensive, DIY art.
And speaking of patterns, check out these duct tapes! How cute!
I look at these plates every time I’m in the store. They’re always absolutely filthy but the dotted pattern is simple and sweet. These probably aren’t going to last as long as brand name, but they would be a lovely addition to a ladies’ lunch or holiday dinner.
I was so excited to find these refrigerator alphabet letters! I had been looking for some online for a craft but found them to be way over-priced. For a buck a piece, I snagged four of these babies (see what I do with them next week!). The English major side of me loves that a semi-colon is included in each set!
I once saw in a model home packets of seeds that had been framed and hung in the laundry home. Such a simple, inexpensive way to add art to your home (and so easy to change out with seasons!). These packs were 4 for $1!
And now for a few fun items…
I think I should add a donut sticker to the top of each day’s to-do list just to give me a smile! I’m kind of donut-obsessed…
Don’t you want to throw a summer party just so you can drink with flamingo straws? Or maybe I’ll just use them for everyday fun…
Do you have certain staples that you always buy at the Dollar Store? What other great finds have you had there?
And what other fabulous things have you been finding? Tell us all about them!
