We always have our eye out for fabulous finds! Check out what we found over the past month!
A bit of a hodge podge on my fab finds this month – we’ll call it something old and something new!
First, what’s old: all these amazing mirrors. I have been collecting them for a few years now, and I just pop into thrift stores and find anything that looks a bit worn, has a neat shape or color, and isn’t more than $15. The result? My amazing mirror wall, which fills in that wall space below the stairs. I’m always on the lookout for more! Here’s a few closeups of my faves:
As for new, I’m spending a third summer pregnant and in the already-too-humid-and-hot-for-me weather of our nation’s capital. So, I picked up this tank dress in the maternity section of Target. One complaint about maternity clothes is that retailers know you need them, so they price them up, which is frustrating, but this blank canvas of a dress will definitely be easy to dress up in lots of ways, so it’ll be several dresses in one (stay tuned next month to see how I do it!)
And, as a bonus – something I haven’t seen in the store, but let’s call it something FUTURISTIC! I need this ASAP for my cats who are getting told old to jump to their food, but have to because the dog eats it all if it’s on the floor! There are a few out there, but this is called the Sureflap Microchip Pet Feeder.
This month my fab finds all come from Hobby Lobby–one of my all-time favorite places to shop! Here are several neat home items I found and fell in love with.
First is this gold geometric letter A. They had all of the letters of the alphabet. I loved the gold and loved the see-through look of it.
Aren’t these hanging baskets adorable? We have a mudroom that needs a makeover and I really like these. The only downfall was that the baskets were super narrow and would probably only hold mail. I’d rather have larger baskets for storing kid stuff.
I’m always telling my daughter that she’s my sweetie pie and I could just eat her up! This art would go perfectly in her bedroom because it would match her gold and white polka dot bedspread from Pottery Barn Kids.
My hubby was with me while I was shopping and he picked out this red sign which made me like it even more. I really love what it says. I think this could also look good in my dining room because I am using red accents in that room.
I have been wanting one of these scroll-looking windows for some time now. I think it would look really pretty with a wreath hung on it, or just leave it plain to look at the pretty scroll work.
Lastly are these small globes. People are crazy about globes! What I like about these is that they are actually small in size which makes them easier to use when decorating. They could fit on a shelf and wouldn’t overwhelm a space like a large globe might.
Don’t you love Hobby Lobby? What have you found there lately?
With the school year almost ever and my library inventory (a.k.a. my busy season) about to start, I’ve been doing most of my “finding” online. It’s much easier for me to find the time to look on my computer rather than driving to a store. So here’s what I’ve been finding on the Web!
Isn’t this agate necklace beautiful? Every year my husband and I pick out a piece of jewelry for me for Mother’s Day, and this was our pick this year! I adore agate–I’ve used it in various parts of my home–and I thought having a slice on a necklace was genius.
*When ordering agate online, expect major variations. The pink stone that I ordered as seen above arrived like this:
I still love it–but it obviously looks quite different than the one pictured!
I think this T-shirt from ILY Couture might be a soon-to-be purchase for me. I love the different phrases of “Mama,” and even though the shirt is very simple, it also seems very chic. I might even pair it with my agate necklace!
Ok, the Etsy store Inedible Jewelry might be a new guilty pleasure–it’s full of food jewelry! Who wouldn’t want pretzel stud earrings?! Or a box of donuts on a necklace?! Add some whimsy to your wardrobe!
My husband’s not a big reader but he would look G-OOD in this due date shirt from Out of Print. It’s fun and a bit vintage (can you believe that library due date stamps are now vintage?!).
So what have you been finding this month?! Don’t keep it to yourself–share it with us!
