This year I was all about DIY-ing our house for Christmas. There’s just something so special about DIY projects that I love to bring them into every holiday.
Our guest bathroom needed a little Christmas cheer, and I created an easy but adorable holiday garland to drape on the mirror. Take a peek:
Isn’t it cute?! Yes, that’s a toilet in the background (just ignore!). I am just dying over how easy this project was but how cute it is!
Construction paper/card stock–I used green, lime green, and red
Here’s what you do:
First, hand draw or trace a holly leaf onto the green paper. See how mine is folded? That’s because I drew half a side, folded the paper, and cut it out. This ensured the leaf was mirrored on the opposite side.
You will make a LOT of these. Because once you make three, so you will tape them together so they can be seen on all sides. Like this:
So you need three leaves to make one complete leaf. Which means A LOT of tracing/cutting out leaves. Just sit down in front of the TV and crank it out.
Cut out red circles–two for each berry. Tape these back-to-back.
I set a pattern for my garland–green leaf, two berries, lime leaf, two berries, repeat repeat repeat. And I attached the pattern to the red string with tape. The tape doesn’t show!
And that’s it! So simple and so so cute! Give it a try!
